Anne Arundel Community CollegeOne of our 3rd grade teachers, Jeanne Catrow, completed a course at Anne Arundel Community College on "Literature of the Chesapeake Bay". The class included reading of non-fiction and fiction books, discussion and projects on the problems/solutions of caring for the watershed, projects on issues dealing with the Bay, and discussion board activities with peers. She also had the opportunity to hear lectures from members of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and authors of books dealing with the Bay. As a result of the class, Ms. Catrow was able to develop a Chesapeake Bay Literature unit for elementary students.
